About Us

Any criticism of the format and content of this Web Site will have to be directed at me, the Ken of Ken and Mair, the originators of this Site.
We are both in the autumn of our lives, and the purpose of the Site is to generate discourse with others; free of the 'drag' of all the 'isms'.

Mair's principal hobby is Oil Painting. Her direct contribution is the Gallery: This is not only a showplace for her work, but also a haven from the inadequacies of my prose. Her indirect contribution has been to point out the evident ambiguities in some of my argument: it will be obvious to many that I do not always take her views into account.

Throughout most of my life I have been dissatisfied with the underlying ethos of the many institutions that determine the format of our existence: that this format may not necessarily reflect the choices of society is given little priority.
I perceive myself as being truly apolitical; and I respect the underlying ethos of all the established Faiths. However, I do not accept that a goodness-based ethos, has need of a God in order to be considered acceptable: neither should any congregation of like minded people require the bureaucracy, or the opulent ritual, attendant on some of the Faiths.
Thus: while I perceive myself to be a convinced atheist: I am happy to embrace any ethics for Good, Truth, Justice and Compassion, under whatever ’banner’ those ethics are preached.
I respect the Faiths that practice these ethics.
I am disappointed in those who do not!
Along the way I have developed an interest in the origins of the Nature Faiths: the quest for these origins remains as my present goal: but not above everything else.
Early stops along this road involved cursory studies of Celticism, Taoism, and Hinduism, all of which became, or have become victims of ritual and may no longer reflect their original fundamentals: hence the quest among the folklore of the more primitive survivors of humanity.
One important offshoot of my study of Taoism has been an interest in Tai C’hi which has become a valued pastime for the last few years.
Those who may be interested in achieving the benefits of Tai C’hi can click on the following Link and those to which it leads.
